Mathilde Georgina Elisabeth de Peyrebrune (1848–1917)

Peyrebrune Georges de—Mathilde Georgina Elisabeth de Peyrebrune de Judicis (pãr-brün’). A French novelist; born in Dordogne in 1848; died in 1917. She wrote: ‘Gatienne’ (1882); ‘Jean Bernard’ (1883); ‘A Separation’ (1884); ‘The Brothers Colombe’ (1885), one of her best works; ‘A Decadent’ (1888); ‘The Romance of a Bas-Bleu’ (1892), showing the dangers of a literary career for women.
