Gifford Pinchot (1865–1946)

Pinchot, Gifford. An American forester; born at Simsbury, CT, Aug. 11, 1865; died in 1946. He wrote, alone or in collaboration: ‘The White Pine’ (1896); ‘The Adirondack Spruce’ (1898); ‘A Primer of Forestry’ (1899); ‘The Fight for Conservation’ (1909); ‘The Country Church’ (1913).
