Petr Plavilshchikov (1760–1812)

Plavilshchikov, Petr Alexievich (pläv-ist’shē-kof). A Russian dramatist; born at Moscow, 1760; died there, 1812. Besides lyric and didactic poems, he wrote these dramatic pieces: ‘Ruric, Founder of the Russian Monarchy’; ‘Takmass Kuli Khan, Prince of Siberia’; ‘Yermak, Conqueror of Siberia’; ‘The Landless Peasant’; ‘The American Savages.’
