Édouard Plouvier (1821–1876)

Plouvier, Édouard (plöv-yā’). A French dramatist and story-writer; born at Paris, Aug. 2, 1821; died there, Nov. 12, 1876. Among his stories are: ‘The Christmas Tree’ (1854); ‘The Beauty with Golden Hair’ (1861). He wrote a volume of songs, ‘Sunday Refrains’ (1856); and the comedies ‘The Steeple-Chase’ (1851); ‘Winter Night’s Dream’ (1854); ‘A Household Crisis’ (1858); ‘The Late Capt. Octave’ (1859); ‘The Dragooness’ (1874).
