Horace Porter (1837–1921)

Porter, Horace. An American soldier and statesman; born in Huntingdon, PA, April 15, 1837; died in 1921. He was United States Ambassador to France (1897–1905). He wrote: ‘West Point Life’ (1860); ‘Campaigning with Grant’ (1897).
