William Prynne (1600–1669)

Prynne, William. An English Puritan, pamphleteer; born in England, in 1600; died on Oct. 24, 1669. He was a voluminous writer and published about 200 books and pamphlets; among them: ‘The Unloveliness of Love-locks’ and ‘Histriomastix’ (1633), an attack on the stage.
