Louis Quicherat (1799–1884)

Quicherat, Louis (kēsh-rä’). A French philologist; born at Paris, Oct. 12, 1799; died there, Nov. 17, 1884. He wrote: ‘Treatise on Latin Versification’ (1826); ‘Elementary Treatise on Music’ (1833); ‘Poetic Thesaurus of the Latin Language’ (1836); ‘Latin Prosody’ (1839; 32d ed. 1893); ‘French-Latin Dictionary’ (1858).
