Beaumont, Sir John. An English poet; elder brother of Francis Beaumont; born at Grace-Dieu, Leicestershire, in 1583; died in 1627. He wrote ‘Metamorphosis of Tobacco’ (1602); ‘Bosworth Field’ (1629).
