Adam Bełcikowski (1839–1909)

Bełcikowski, Adam (bel-chā-kov’skā). A Polish dramatist; born in Kraków, 1839; died in 1909. Among his numerous historical dramas and comedies are: ‘King Don Juan’ (1869); ‘Hunyadi’ (1870); ‘Francesca da Rimini’ (1873); ‘The Oath’ (1878); ‘King Boleslav the Bold’ (1882). He also wrote valuable essays on Polish literature.
