William Stubbs (1825–1901)

Stubbs, William. An English historical writer; born at Knaresborough, June 21, 1825; died in London, April 22, 1901. He became bishop of Oxford in 1889. His great work is ‘The Constitutional History of England’ (3 vols., 1874, 1875, and 1878). (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
