Benediktov, Vladimir Grigorievitch (be-ne-dik’tof). A Russian poet (1807–73), whose lyrics excel in deep sentiment and ideal enthusiasm; some, like ‘Two Apparitions,’ ‘The Lake,’ ‘The Mountain Peaks,’ may be ranked with the finest of any literature.
