Eduard von Tempeltey (1832–1919)

Tempeltey, Eduard von (tem-pel’tī). A German poet; born at Berlin, Oct. 13, 1832; died in 1919. His two dramas, ‘Clytemnestra’ (1857), and ‘Here Guelph, Here Ghibellin!’ (1859) were received with extraordinary favor. Among his other dramas is ‘Cromwell’ (1882), which was also remarkably successful. He wrote also a chaplet of songs, ‘Mariengarn’ (1866).
