David Todd (1855–1939)

Todd, David. An American author and astronomer; born in Lake Ridge, NY, March 19, 1855; died in 1939. He was professor of astronomy and director of the observatory at Amherst College, and was in charge of various eclipse expeditions, including those to Texas, Japan, West Africa, and East Indies. Author of: ‘A New Astronomy’ (1897); ‘Stars and Telescopes’ (1899); ‘Lessons in Astronomy’ (1902).
