Torrey, Bradford. An American nature essayist; born in Weymouth, MA, Oct. 9, 1843; died at Santa Barbara, CA, Oct. 7, 1912. His essays have been collected into the following volumes: ‘Birds in the Bush’ (1885); ‘The Foot-Path Way’; ‘A Rambler’s Lease’; ‘A Florida Sketch-Book’; ‘Spring Notes from Tennessee’; ‘Nature’s Invitation’; ‘Friends on the Shelf.’
