Uchard, Bernardin, Seigneur de Monspey (ü-shär’). A French poet of the first half of the seventeenth century. He is noted for two poems written in Southern French patois: ‘The Groans of the Poor Farm Laborer over the Dread He Has of War’ (1615), and ‘The Woman of Piedmont’ (1619).
