Gisbert Freiherr von Vincke (1813–1892)

Vincke, Karl Friedrich Gisbert, Freiherr von (vink’ė). A German story-writer and poet; born at Hagen, Sept. 6, 1813; died at Freiburg, Baden, Feb. 6, 1892. He wrote ‘Legends and Pictures of Westphalia’ (1856); ‘Poems’ (1860); ‘Comedies’ (2 vols., 1869 and 1881); ‘A Little List of Sins’ (4th ed. 1889); and adapted some of Shakespeare’s plays.
