Richard Wagner (1813–1883)

Wagner, Richard. The German musical composer and poet; born in Leipsic, May 22, 1813; died in Venice, Italy, Feb. 13, 1883. In addition to the musical compositions upon which his fame is founded, he wrote: ‘The Judaic in Music’ (1852); ‘Music of the Future’ (1860); ‘State and Religion’ (1864); ‘Letters’; ‘Reminiscences from My Life.’ (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
