Johan Olof Wallin (1779–1839)

Wallin, Johan Olof (väl-lēn’). A Swedish poet; born in Dalarna, Oct. 15, 1779; died at Upsala, archbishop of that see, June 30, 1839. His hymns and religious songs are in high repute in Sweden, and he was called “Sweden’s Harp of David.” His finest production is ‘The Angel of Death.’ He was a notable pulpit orator.
