Alfred Mason Williams (1840–1896)

Williams, Alfred Mason. An American journalist, editor, and poet; born at Taunton, MA, Oct. 23, 1840; died at St. Kitts, West Indies, March 9, 1896. He was editor of the Providence Journal, and published: ‘The Poets and Poetry of Ireland’; ‘Studies in Folk-Song and Popular Poetry’; ‘Sam Houston and the War of Independence in Texas.’
