Francesco Antonio Zaccaria (1714–1795)

Zaccaria, Francesco Antonio (dzä-kä-rē’ä). An Italian Jesuit scholar and historian; born at Venice, 1714; died in 1795. He was professor of ecclesiastical history at the college La Sapienza, Rome. He wrote: ‘Literary History of England’ (14 vols., 1751); ‘Literary Annals of Italy’ (3 vols., 1762); ‘Numismatic Institutes’; etc.
