Giovanni Battista Felice Zappi (1667–1710)

Zappi, Giovanni Battista Felice (dzäp’pē). An Italian lyrical poet; born at Imola, about 1667; died at Rome, 1710. He studied law in Rome, but soon became noted for his poetry, which was distinguished by elegance and grace of style. A collection of his poems was first published in 1770, and consists of sonnets, songs, cantatas, and other verse.
