Borden Parker Bowne (1847–1910)

Bowne, Borden Parker (boun). An American philosophical writer; born at Leonardville, NJ, Jan. 14, 1847; died in 1910. He was religious editor of the New York Independent 1875–76, becoming professor of philosophy at Boston University 1876. He wrote: ‘Philosophy of Herbert Spencer’ (1874); ‘Metaphysics’; ‘The Immanence of God’; ‘Personalism.’
