Ebenezer Cobham Brewer (1810–1897)

Brewer, E. Cobham. An English clergyman and lexicographer; born in London, May 2, 1810; died at Newark, England, March 6, 1897. He was educated at Cambridge, and entered the ministry. He edited many valuable reference books, among which are: ‘Guide to Science’ (1850); ‘Dictionary of Phrase and Fable’ (1885); ‘Reader’s Handbook’ (1884); ‘Dictionary of Miracles’; etc.
