Emily Brontë (1818–1848)

Brontë, Emily (“Ellis Bell”). An English novelist, sister of Charlotte and Anne; born in Thornton, 1818; died in Haworth, Dec. 19, 1848. Her novel ‘Wuthering Heights’ (1846) shows a powerful and fantastic imagination. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
