Richard Eugene Burton (1861–1940)

Burton, Richard Eugene. An American poet and journalist, son of Nathaniel J. Burton; born in Hartford, CT, March 14, 1861; died in 1940. He graduated from Trinity College, Hartford, and took a degree at Johns Hopkins University. His published poems are: ‘Dumb in June’ (1895); ‘Memorial Day’ (1897); ‘Rahab’ (1906); a drama; ‘The New American Drama’ (1913).
