Abba Louisa Goold Woolson (1838–1921)

Woolson, Mrs. Abba Louisa (Goold). An American lecturer and author; born in Windham, ME, April 30, 1838; died in 1921. She gave many lectures on literary, social, historical, and dramatic subjects; and besides contributing to periodicals, published: ‘Women in American Society’ (1873); ‘Browsing among Books’ (1881); ‘George Eliot and her Heroines’ (1886); and ‘Dress as it Affects the Health of Women’ (1874), a series of lectures.
