Alexander McLachlan (1818–1896)

McLachlan, Alexander. A Scottish poet; born in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Aug. 12, 1818; died there, March 20, 1896. In 1841 he went to Canada. His works are: ‘Poems,’ chiefly in Scotch dialect (1855); ‘Poems and Songs’ (1874); and ‘The Poets and Poetry of Scotland’ (1876).
