Blanche Roosevelt Tucker Macchetta (1853–1898)

Macchetta Blanche (Tucker) Marquise d’Alligre, “Blanche Roosevelt” (mä-ket’a). An American novelist and biographer, daughter of John Randolph Tucker, U.S. Senator from Virginia; born at Sandusky, OH, 1853; died in London, Sept. 10, 1898. She wrote: ‘Home Life of Henry W. Longfellow’ (1882); ‘Stage-Struck’ (1884); ‘Life of Gustave Doré’ (1885); etc.
