Camille Doucet (1812–1895)
Doucet, Charles Camille (dö-sä’). A French dramatist; born at Paris, May 16, 1812; died there, April 1, 1895. The best known of his comedies are: ‘A Young Man’ (1841); ‘Lawyer in His Own Cause’ (1842); ‘Forbidden Fruit’ (1857); ‘Consideration.’ His lyric pieces for the stage, ‘Velasquez’ (1847) and ‘Antonio’s Barque’ (1849), were crowned by the Academy.
