Caroline Chesebro’ (1825–1873)

Chesebro’, Caroline. An American novelist; born in Canandaigua, NY, 1825; died in Piermont, NY, Feb. 16, 1873. She was author of ‘Dream-Land by Daylight,’ a volume of stories and sketches (1851); ‘The Beautiful Gate and Other Tales’ (1863). The novels: ‘Philly and Kit’ (1856); ‘Peter Carradine’ (1863); ‘The Foe in the Household’ (1871); and various others, are well known.
