Wells, Carolyn. An American writer; born in Rahway, NJ; died in 1942. She wrote: ‘At the Sign of the Sphinx’ (1896); ‘The Jingle Book’ (1899); ‘The Story of Betty’ (1899); ‘Idle Idylls’ (1900); ‘A Folly Anthology’ (1907); ‘The Lover’s Baedeker’ (1912); ‘Anybody but Anne’ (1914); ‘Two Little Women’ (1915).
