Charles Adams (1808–1890)

Adams, Charles. An American historical and religious writer; born in New Hampshire in 1808; died in 1890. He was a Methodist clergyman. Among his numerous works are: ‘Evangelism in the Middle of the Nineteenth Century’ (1851); ‘Women of the Bible’ (1851); ‘Life of Cromwell’ (1867); ‘The Earth and its Wonders’ (1869); ‘Life Sketches of Macaulay’ (1880).
