Edward Eggleston (1837–1902)
Eggleston, Edward. An American historian and novelist; born in Vevay, IN, Dec. 10, 1837; died at Lake George, Sept. 2, 1902. In fiction he achieved celebrity with stories of life in Southern Indiana in pioneer days, while as a historian he makes a specialty of American subjects.
