Henri de Régnier (1864–1936)

Régnier, Henri de (ren-yā’). A French symbolist poet; born at Honfleur, Normandy, in 1864; died in 1936. His volumes of verse include: ‘Les Lendemains’ (1885); ‘Apaisement’ (1886); ‘Sites’ (1889); ‘Episodes’ (1888); ‘Poèmes Anciens et Romanesques’ (1887–90); ‘Rustic and Divine Games’ (1897); ‘Medals of Clay’ (1900); ‘The Winged Sandal’ (1903–05); ‘The Mirror of the Hours’ (1911).
