Karl Salomo Zachariä von Lingenthal (1769–1843)

Zachariä von Lingenthal, Karl Salomo (tsä-ċhä-rē’ā fon ling’en-täl). A German jurist; born at Meissen, Saxony, Sept. 14, 1769; died on March 27, 1843. He was professor of law at Wittenberg, 1797–1807, and Heidelberg, 1807–43. He wrote: ‘The Unity of State and Church’ (1797); ‘Forty Books on the State’ (2d ed. 7 vols., 1839–43); ‘Hand-Book of French Civil Law’ (8th ed. 1894–95); etc.
