Luis de Eguílaz (1830–1874)

Eguílaz, Luis de (ā-gēl-äth’). A Spanish dramatist (1830–74); born at Xeres de la Frontera; settled at Madrid. His plays ‘Bitter Truths’ and ‘The Life of Soldier John’ gave him fame. Among others are: ‘The Quarrels of the Philosopher King’; ‘Matrimony’s Cross’; ‘Leaden Soldiers.’
