Mary Agnes Tincker (1831–1907)

Tincker, Mary Agnes. An American novelist; born in Ellsworth, ME, July 18, 1831; died in 1907. After 1873 she resided in Italy, and published many novels. Among them are: ‘The House of Yorke’ (1872); ‘A Winged Word’ (1873); ‘Grapes and Thorns’ (1874); ‘Six Sunny Months’ (1878): and the remarkable romances ‘Signer Monaldini’s Niece’ (1878); ‘By the Tiber’ (1881); ‘The Jewel in the Lotus’ (1884); and ‘Aurora’ (1885).
