Paul Meredith Potter (1853–1921)

Potter, Paul Meredith. An American dramatist; born at Brighton, England, June 3, 1853; died in 1921. He was foreign correspondent for the New York Herald and afterwards joined the editorial staff of the Chicago Tribune. Among his numerous plays are: ‘The American Minister’ (1892); ‘The Victoria Cross’ (1894); ‘The Conquerors’ (1898); ‘Under Two Flags’ (1901); ‘Nancy Stair’ (1905); ‘Arsène Lupin’ (1909); ‘Israel’ (1909). He dramatized ‘Trilby’ (du Maurier’s novel).
