Philip Henry Wicksteed (1844–1927)

Wicksteed, Philip Henry. An English clergyman, economic writer, and critic; born at Leeds, Oct. 25, 1844; died in 1927. He was lecturer on sociology at Oxford University. He published: ‘Dante: Six Sermons’ (1880); ‘Alphabet of Economic Science’ (1888); ‘Henrik Ibsen: Four Lectures’ (1892); ‘Dante and Aquinas’ (1913); besides translations from the Dutch and French, and of Dante.
