Robert Breckinridge McAfee (1784–1849)
McAfee, Robert Breckinridge. An American lawyer and historian; born in Mercer County, KY, Feb. 1784; died there, March 12, 1849. He was United States chargé d’affaires at Bogotá, Colombia, from 1833 till 1837. He wrote a ‘History of the War of 1812’ (1816). Much valuable information has been obtained from his private journal, relating to the early history of Kentucky.
