Sebastián Lorente (1813–1884)
Lorente, Sebastián (lō-ren’tā). A Peruvian historian; born in 1813; died at Lima, Nov. 1884. A professor of history at the University of San Marcos, he made valuable contributions to the historical literature of his country in his ‘History of Peru’ (5 vols., 1860); ‘History of the Conquest of Peru’ (1861); and articles in the Peruvian Review.
