Vitéz Mihály Csokonai (1773–1805)

Csokonai, Vitéz Mihály (chō-kō’noi). A Hungarian poet (1773–1805). His inspiration was national. His principal works are: ‘The Hungarian Muse’ (1797); ‘Dorothea,’ a comic epos (1804); ‘Odes’ (1805); ‘The Shepherd King’ (1806); ‘Anacreontics’; ‘Battle of Frogs and Mice.’
