William Wilson (1801–1860)

Wilson, William. A Scotch-American journalist, publisher, and poet; born in Perthshire, Dec. 25, 1801; died in Poughkeepsie, NY, Aug. 25, 1860. He edited the ‘Scottish Songs, Ballads, and Poems’ of Hew Ainslie (1855), and several other volumes. His ‘Poems,’ edited by Benson J. Lossing, appeared in 1870, revised and enlarged editions in 1875 and 1884.
