In completing the survey it was evident that workplace discrimination is not as common as it is widely thought to be. The survey results showed that most people in this day and age have never experienced discrimination. Out of the ten surveys conducted only one individual from the general public had experienced discrimination in the workplace. To eliminate this sort of behaviour, a no tolerant attitude should be put in place. This would include the laws being tougher in order to discourage employers/employees from discrimination. Another approach to eliminate this sort of behaviour from arising in the workplace would be to appoint an anti discrimination officer to the workplace.
When talking about equality opportunities implemented by companies, we can make a differentiation between two different models, the liberal and the radical one.
Now I am going to address three aspects, which are related to why organizations should pay attention to equality and diversity. The first one is social justice case. It is based on treated fairly in the workplace and more specific meaning is each employee should have same pay, equal opportunities to improving themselves and same training. These also related to harassment, bullying and discrimination (Law Advisers, 2016). Everyone is same so individuals should protect own right. If employees are treated inequality, they should stand up and defend themselves’ right.
