Sir Thomas Browne

For God is like a skilful Geometrician, who, when more easily and with one stroke of his Compass he might describe or divide a right line, had yet rather do this in a circle or longer way, according to the constituted and forelaid principle of his art.

Heresies perish not with their authors, but, like the river Arethusa, though they lose their currents in one place, they rise up again in another.
