Penmanmawr

By Robert Southey (1774–1843)

(From Madoc)

THE SUN goes down.

Far off his light is on the naked crags

Of Penmanmawr, and Arvon’s ancient hills;

And the last glory lingers yet awhile,

Crowning old Snowdon’s venerable head,

That rose amid his mountains.
