Logic and the Co-Ed

From “The Sphinx,” University of Wisconsin

SHE got on a car going down-town. She was a freshman, and when the conductor came around after her nickel she said:

“Does this car go to Camp Randall?”

“No, it goes down-town,” was the reply.

“But it says on the front, ‘Football at Camp Randall to-day’; and doesn’t it go there?”

“Yes,” said the conductor. “It says ‘Boston Baked Beans’ on one of the signs on the inside, but the car doesn’t go to Boston.”

The young girl got off at the next corner.
