Atom has three subatomic particles namely, protons, electrons, and neutrons. The aluminum element has an atomic number of 13 and an atomic mass of 27. For every element, the number of protons in the nucleus is their atomic number. Therefore, the number of protons of the aluminum atom is 13. Similarly, the sum of protons and neutrons of an atom is its atomic mass. Here, the atomic mass of aluminum is given as 27. Therefore, the number of neutrons in the nucleus of aluminum is 14 (atomic mass (27)-number of proton (13)).
