Introduction:

Healthcare finance is comprised of medical process which is dedicated towards improving the wellbeing of an individual. It includes management of funds with respect to medical resources. At the individual level, it includes payments made against prescription, dental care, physician care, hospital care and other medical services. Health care financing operate as a credit when patient are not able to pay their medical expenses out of their own pocket.

Health care finance includes how payment is made by the society against the health care services consumed by them; however healthcare industry is completely different. Healthcare services are usually dominated by not for profit organization, including investor owned, government and private businesses, but large amount of payment are made by third party payers (government program, insurance companies and employers) to the health care providers. Therefore, the presence of health care finance stands important for managing the flow of funds and set off the same against the health care expenses in the most efficient manner.

It can be concluded that it is necessary to devote a book to healthcare finance due to changes occurring in the health care system and different strategies that needs to be worked out in comparison to a regular corporation.
