Expert Solution

Explanation of Solution

The dynamic exchange with the environment is one of the characteristics of the human body and that of animals. It means that the atoms of the elements that are found inside the bodies are lost to the outside and are replaced by new atoms by the dynamic exchange.

The body of humans releasescarbon dioxide during exhalation. Therefore, the carbon from the sugar or starch in the human body is lost. This is taken up by the plants and then fixed in the form of glucose, starch, and cellulose. Thus, the human body replenishes the carbon that is lost by the new food intake. Similarly, the body gets calcium from milk and other foods. Some of this calcium is lost from the bodies by excretion, sweat, and when thefingernails are cut. Therefore, constantly, the human body loses calcium atoms and carbon atomsthat find their way through the food chain into other human beings and animals.

Therefore, even though ancient rules may have been buried, they too remained in dynamic equilibrium during their lifetimes. Thus, some of the calcium atoms and carbon atoms that were once part of their bodies were released to the environment. It is quite possible that human beings have imbibed these atoms and that they now form a part of human bodies.
